Rural teaching School of Cambodia

About Us

We are a small community school located in Tnol Trong Village, just 13km away from Siem Reap, Cambodia. The school is a registered non-profit NGO, founded in February 2013 by my lovely family.....

Why to Choose Us?

● Not only we offer English lessons but we also try to help families around us by using some of the school donations to buy rice, distribute meals to the kids, pay for school uniforms and medical bills and install water filters. You not only participate in a school project but you help a whole community get better lives.

Whilst formal teaching qualification is not required you will need to do some class preparation but what matters most is PATIENT, RELIABLE and FUN attitude and a genuine interest in working with children.

This helps cover the daily meal cost of hosting volunteers — including meals, Wi-Fi, electricity, and running water and also supports the family running the school, allowing for ongoing improvements to teaching materials and the learning environment.

Martyna & Antoni

We spent 10 wonderful days at Phoeury’s school and enjoyed every moment of our stay. We had a comfortable upstairs room with two fans, which made it very pleasant. Phoeury provided two hot meals a day, and the food was delicious. Classes were held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and the children were amazing—it was a pleasure to teach them. The whole family was kind, warm, and welcoming, and they also provided free bicycles. It took only about 10 minutes to reach a nearby coffee shop and the local market. We are very grateful for this experience and highly recommend staying with Phoeury and his family.

Luca

I spent two weeks at Phoeury’s school, and it was a truly wonderful and enriching experience. The family is incredibly welcoming, always available, and made me feel at home from the very first day. Teaching English at the school was very stimulating, as the students are sweet, respectful, and eager to learn and challenge themselves. They are curious and enthusiastic, and it was exciting to see their motivation during the lessons.

It was an incredible experience, and I highly recommend everyone to come here for at least two weeks to get to know this amazing community and family. As soon as you arrive, you can see the great impact this school has on the community. You also get to enjoy beautiful landscapes using the school’s bicycles, taste Poeuy’s wife’s delicious food, and easily plan tours with Poeuy. Thank you again, Poeuy—we feel very lucky to have met you!

Héloïse

I am writing to provide feedback on Heloise’s recent volunteer experience at our school over the past six weeks. Heloise has been a fantastic addition to our team, demonstrating a genuine passion for working with children. Her interactions with the students were always positive and engaging, and she has a natural ability to connect with them while fostering a supportive and encouraging environment. She was reliable, punctual, and consistently brought a positive attitude to her role. We are grateful for her contributions and would welcome her back anytime in the future. Thank you, Heloise, for your hard work and dedication.

● We are a small community school located in Tnol Trong Village, just 13km away from Siem Reap, Cambodia.

● The school is a registered non-profit NGO, founded in February 2013 by my lovely family.

● Cambodia is seeing a strong growth in the tourism industry, which will provide an increasing number of employment opportunities in the future, especially for the children around the Siem Reap area and for a career in tourism, English is essential. That’s why our school has one clear goal: to give children from disadvantaged backgrounds free access to English and Chinese education, helping them gain a real chance to access future job opportunities.

● Our school currently offers FREE English lessons to nearly 180 children from the Bakong community. Many of the local families struggle with basic needs like food, water and health related costs, let alone getting the kids to attend class, afford mandatory school fees and uniforms. Education is often their only real chance to build a different future and break generational poverty. So please come help us offer better futures for these amazing kids.
