We believe the money you pay for your volunteer experience should go directly to the people providing that experience. Most of our hosts are small grassroot organizations which depend upon your time and money to sustain. Taking a commission as deposit from them deducts their revenue which could be used for the program itself.
Host&Volunteer makes the connection between you and the host. We don't need to collect your money or take a commission from the host's program fee.
The host may have its own payment terms, including an advance payment or deposit. If you agree to a deposit with a host, you pay that deposit directly to the host — not to Host&Volunteer.
