More Details...

A typical day for volunteers at Fundación EducaMadrid begins in the morning with breakfast at the accommodation (if meals are provided) or preparation for the day. Volunteers then travel to their hosting school to participate in teaching projects, which usually run from [insert start time] to [insert end time]. During this time, volunteers assist teachers, lead activities, support students in learning, and engage in interactive educational programs.

Lunch is typically taken either at the school or back at the accommodation, giving volunteers a chance to rest, socialize, or explore the local area. The afternoon continues with more teaching activities, planning sessions, or workshops designed to enhance teaching skills and cultural understanding.

Evenings are free for volunteers to relax, explore Madrid, or participate in organized cultural and social activities. Options include visiting museums, attending local events, practicing Spanish, or connecting with fellow volunteers. This balance of structured teaching time and personal exploration ensures that volunteers gain both professional experience and cultural enrichment during their stay.

Fundación EducaMadrid provides safe and comfortable lodging for volunteers during their stay in Madrid. Our accommodations are located close to the hosting schools, making it easy for volunteers to commute and fully engage in their teaching projects. The lodging is designed to offer both privacy and a sense of community, ensuring that volunteers feel at home while also enjoying opportunities to connect with one another.

We can host up to [insert number] volunteers at a time. Rooms are shared, typically accommodating 2–3 volunteers per room, with separate spaces for male and female volunteers. Each room is furnished with basic amenities, including beds, storage, and study areas. Common facilities such as a kitchen, dining space, bathrooms, and Wi-Fi are available to ensure comfort and convenience throughout the stay.

The accommodation also provides a supportive environment for cultural exchange, where volunteers from diverse backgrounds can share experiences, ideas, and friendships. This creates not only a place to stay, but also a vibrant community that reflects the values of Fundación EducaMadrid.

Volunteers are provided with three meals a day during their stay. Meals include a variety of Spanish and international dishes, prepared with fresh and healthy ingredients. Breakfast usually consists of bread, fruit, cereals, and coffee or tea, while lunch and dinner feature traditional Spanish meals such as rice, pasta, vegetables, and meat or vegetarian options. Special dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, or food allergies) can be accommodated if communicated in advance.

Eating together also creates a friendly and welcoming environment, allowing volunteers to connect not only with one another but also with local culture through food.

Volunteers are asked to contribute a daily fee of 55 EUR per day. This fee helps cover the cost of accommodation, utilities, and support services provided during their stay. It also contributes to the administration of the program and the development of our educational projects.

The fee includes lodging and access to shared facilities such as the kitchen, common areas, and Wi-Fi. Additional expenses, such as meals (if not included), local transportation, or personal activities, are the responsibility of the volunteer.

This contribution ensures that Fundación EducaMadrid can continue offering meaningful volunteer opportunities while maintaining a comfortable and supportive environment for all participants.

Age: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. There is no upper age limit, but participants should be able to manage the physical and mental demands of teaching and daily activities.

Skills and Experience: While prior teaching experience is an advantage, it is not mandatory. Volunteers should have basic communication skills, patience, and a willingness to engage with students. Knowledge of Spanish is helpful but not required, as basic language support and guidance will be provided.

Educational Background: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. University students or recent graduates in education, social sciences, or related fields are encouraged to apply.

Dietary Requirements: Volunteers should inform Fundación EducaMadrid in advance of any special dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, or food allergies, so that meals (if provided) or kitchen arrangements can accommodate them.

Health and Safety: Volunteers must be in good health and able to participate in daily teaching and community activities. Health insurance is mandatory and must be arranged before arrival.

Commitment: Volunteers should commit to the full duration of the program to ensure consistency and meaningful impact on the students and the teaching projects.

The daily fee includes comfortable accommodation, access to all shared facilities (kitchen, bathrooms, Wi-Fi, and common areas), as well as orientation and ongoing support from the Fundación EducaMadrid team. It also covers the administrative costs of managing the program, ensuring volunteers have a safe, organized, and enriching experience. Depending on the arrangement, the fee may also include basic meals or weekly cultural activities. Any personal expenses, local transportation, or optional excursions are not included in the fee.

The daily fee does not cover international or local transportation costs, including flights, airport transfers, or public transportation in Madrid. Travel and health insurance are the responsibility of each volunteer and must be arranged prior to arrival. Entrance tickets to museums, cultural sites, or events, as well as personal expenses such as shopping, dining out, or leisure activities, are also not included. In addition, visa fees and any other administrative costs related to entry into Spain must be handled directly by the volunteer.

During their free time, volunteers have the opportunity to explore the vibrant city of Madrid and immerse themselves in Spanish culture. The city offers countless activities, from visiting world-famous museums such as the Prado and Reina Sofía, to strolling through Retiro Park or experiencing the lively atmosphere of Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol.

Cultural experiences include enjoying traditional Spanish cuisine, flamenco shows, and local festivals that bring volunteers closer to the rich heritage of Madrid. For those interested in day trips, nearby historic cities such as Toledo, Segovia, and Ávila are easily accessible by train or bus.

In addition, volunteers can participate in language exchanges, sports, and group activities organized by the foundation. These experiences not only provide relaxation and enjoyment but also create opportunities for cultural exchange, personal growth, and building lasting friendships.
