About Us
Adjah Cancer Support Ghana (ACSG) offers the ICT & Digital Skills Education Volunteer Program to help schoolchildren develop basic computer knowledge and digital literacy. Through partnerships with local schools in Ghana, volunteers support teachers in introducing students to technology and building essential skills for learning in an increasingly digital world.
Volunteers may assist with basic computer operations, typing, word processing, internet safety, digital awareness, educational software, and introductory technology activities. Depending on the school's facilities and students' needs, volunteers may also support practical computer sessions, educational games, and group learning activities.
This program welcomes international volunteers who have an interest in technology, education, and community service. Previous teaching experience is an advantage but not compulsory. Volunteers should have basic computer knowledge, patience, good communication skills, and a willingness to share their knowledge with students.
Volunteers work under the guidance of local teachers and school staff, respecting the school's timetable, resources, and policies. The program also provides an opportunity to experience Ghanaian culture, interact with local communities, and exchange knowledge with students and educators.
ACSG promotes responsible volunteering, meaningful cultural exchange, and community participation. All activities follow school rules and applicable child safeguarding requirements.
Join us to help young learners build digital confidence and develop practical skills that can support their future education and opportunities.

Volunteer experience
A typical day begins with breakfast before volunteers travel to the partner school. Upon arrival, they meet local teachers to review the day's ICT activities. Volunteers assist students with basic computer operations, typing, word processing, educational software, and responsible internet use. They may support practical exercises, small-group learning, and interactive digital activities under teacher supervision.
After a break, volunteers may help prepare learning materials or assist with additional computer sessions, depending on the school's timetable, available equipment, and students' learning needs. At the end of the school day, volunteers return to their accommodation, enjoy free time, or explore local culture. Daily schedules may vary according to school activities and the volunteer's skills.
€350 per week
Volunteers stay in safe and comfortable accommodation in Ghana throughout their placement. Depending on availability, accommodation may be in a private or shared room with access to basic facilities, including a bed, bathroom, electricity, and water. Common areas may be shared with other volunteers or members of the host household.
The accommodation provides an opportunity to experience Ghanaian culture and everyday community life. Three meals per day are included in the stay. Volunteers are expected to keep their rooms and shared spaces clean, respect house rules, and be considerate of other residents. Accommodation arrangements and facilities will be communicated before arrival.
3 meals per day
During their free time, volunteers can explore local communities, visit cultural and historical sites, discover Ghanaian cuisine, browse local markets, enjoy traditional music and dance, participate in sports, and meet other volunteers. Weekends may offer opportunities to visit beaches, explore nearby attractions, and experience local festivals when available.
Volunteers can also interact with local residents to learn about Ghanaian customs, traditions, and everyday life. These activities provide opportunities to relax, make new friends, and enjoy cultural exchange outside the school environment. All activities are optional and subject to availability and local arrangements. Volunteers are responsible for any associated transportation, entrance fees, tours, and personal expenses.
