My experience with rising Sun was a great one. Felt like I have been there before even though it was my first time. The leaders of the organization in Ghana are family oriented and make you feel at home.

Michaela Kubalski

My daughter and I volunteered in a school in Accra Ghana with RisingSun Volunteers. I must say they are organised and the facilities at the home stay is spectacular. It feels like home away from home. Even though we spent 3 weeks we actually had a feel of the Ghanaian culture and the way we were treated was so nice. I and my daughter will go again and I tell you to look no further, RisingSun Volunteers is an organization to volunteer with.

Jim Atkinson

After a long search online I finally decided to volunteer through RisingSun Volunteers because they offer the lowest volunteering fees in Ghana and various volunteering placement types providing a quality and meaningful social impact. I stayed for 3 weeks and I was a volunteer coach. I helped them with soccer and also introduced different sports to the children. They were all full of smiles when ever I was around them. It’s an unforgettable and a memorable experience I have had in my life.

Johanna Kandel

During my volunteering period, I found it astonishing to see poor and deprived people but still very happy. Volunteering with RisingSun Volunteers has been a good experience in my life and it gave me the opportunity to work with children and that has always been a dream of mine. I felt safe my whole time in Ghana and the accommodation was very comfortable for me. I was surrounded with caring and loving people with positive energy. The team were so professional.

Juan Santana

Ghana is treating me really well, good people, good weather and great vibes. The program is really good, and you will feel really integrated with everybody; coaches, host, kids. I can only be grateful for being here!

RisingSun Volunteers is an NGO based in Teshie Nungua, a community in Accra. The founders of this NGO have been working with volunteer organisations for many years and reside all over the world, Germany, Denmark, the UK and of course locally in Ghana.

Having accumulated extensive experience through years of travel and collaboration with interns and volunteers, we bring valuable insights to establish our own volunteer organisation.

Volunteering offers you various benefits like gaining new skills, building a sense of community, and finding personal fulfillment by helping others. It also enhances social connections and provides networking opportunities, bringing people from different backgrounds together under one roof in our volunteer house.

In Africa, specifically Ghana, volunteering induces unique advantages such as cultural immersion, broadening perspectives, and contributing to meaningful projects. This experience fosters adaptability, cross-cultural communication skills, and a deeper understanding of global issues, leading to personal growth and a positive impact on local communities. Volunteering in Ghana can also boost your job prospects by showcasing cultural competence, adaptability, and a commitment to social impact. It provides opportunities to develop skills relevant to local job markets, and building connections may open doors to job opportunities while deepening your understanding of the local professional scene. Regarding financial transparency, any money you pay to RisingSun Volunteers contributes to various areas, including hospitals, schools, the football team, staff salaries, accommodation maintenance, meals, administrative costs, humanitarian aid, and operational expenses.
