Overal I had a very good exprecience with this organisation. I stayed with a very nice family that made me feel at home and helped me with everything I needed help with . The teaching part was a bit difficult sometimes because the kids sometimes didn't understand me but we still had fun and it was very nice!
Durga was amazing ! she met with me daily and made certain that I was comfortable upon my stay at Monastery. Durga remained available throughout my trip and was fun to share time with. My experience at the Monastery was wonderful, the children were beautiful and appreciated our presence and help. It was very easy to get around Kathmandu with the "Choo-Choo" & "In-Drive" scooter drivers -and quite reasonable as well. I miss my time in Kathmandu, as the people were quite lovely and warm. Go with the flow. If lucky, we can find and create a working agenda with the children and staff to assist the entire monastery, which is much appreciated! Things are not always as planned, (school on break) all the help needed will become obvious. This is working with the situation.
I have been for a week in a village in Dhading district. I was hosted by a wonderful local family with 2 lovely children. The village was located in the middle of rice terraced hills and forest, incredible landscapes! In the village there were small bazaars for basic necessities and the city with all services is 15-20 minutes away by motorbike. During the day I usually held English lessons and took part in some activities the family was involved in, such as helping with small agricultural jobs or watch them preparing traditional food. They also took me on a short trek in a beautiful panoramic area from which you can admire the Himalayas mountain. It was a very intense experience that allowed me to come into contact with the local reality and taste a bit of the Nepalese life. Both Durga and the family I was staying with were always very kind and helpful to me. I hope to return to Nepal soon!
Thank you for everything. I have a great time in Nepal. The volunteering in the village and in the school teach me a lot of things. Amrit's Family was Fantastic, they were very accommodating with. I learned little Nepali however I think they learned more English. Raju and Prem were also very helpful during my stay in Kathmandu and obviously you always responding all my doubts before my trip. My suggestion is to enjoy the moment, time goes so fast and Nepal its a beatiful place, make space to travel all around this country. Defenitely some day I will come back. The family where I stayed was great people, Ispent an extraordinary stay with them. Also Durga, Raju and Prem made my stay so great at Katmandu.
