● As a charity-supported school, Simoonga Thandizani Trust School relies on donor contributions and volunteer support to continue providing free education to children in Simoonga village. Volunteers are asked to contribute a daily program fee of €25 Euro per day, which helps cover accommodation, breakfast, lunch, teaching materials, and community project support.
● This fee ensures that volunteers can fully participate in the program while directly supporting the school’s mission. Dinner and other personal expenses can be arranged separately if volunteers wish. By paying this fee, volunteers are making a direct and meaningful contribution to the children’s education and the development of the local community.
● Age: Volunteers should be 16 years and older. Younger volunteers may be considered if accompanied by a guardian or as part of an organized group.
● Skills: No formal teaching experience is required. Volunteers with skills in teaching, early childhood education, sports, arts, music, or community development are especially welcomed, but all volunteers who are passionate, patient, and eager to contribute are encouraged to join.
● Dietary Restrictions: We provide breakfast and lunch, typically including local Zambian dishes such as porridge and simple meals prepared from local ingredients. Volunteers with special dietary needs or restrictions should notify the program in advance so we can try to accommodate them as best as possible.
● Other Considerations: Volunteers should be flexible, adaptable, and respectful of local culture and community practices. Participation in daily school and community activities is expected to ensure a meaningful experience for both volunteers and students.
