● Ssamba Foundation provides volunteer programs in four core areas:
● Education: Supporting literacy, youth engagement, and classroom learning through supervised volunteer placements.
● Health: Promoting hygiene, nutrition, and community health education in partnership with local clinics and health teams.
● Agriculture: Supporting sustainable farming, community gardens, and food security initiatives.
● Water & Sanitation: Supporting WASH education, hygiene promotion, and community water management.

● A typical day highly depends on the program chosen.

● Volunteer accommodation is an important part of your volunteering experience. Kyampisi Backpackers Home in Mukono Uganda is your home far away from home. Having a good volunteer accommodation ensures you a comfortable environment to work in and a chance to immerse yourself in the local culture.

● When you volunteer with Ssamba Foundation you will be living at Kyampisi Backpackers Home. Life here is motivating and a fun filled experience. The home primarily hosts volunteers working with Ssamba Foundation, but other travelers and tourists are also very welcome to stay.

● For volunteers, it is a place to relax after the intense experiences of the day, a place to chat, to rest, watch TV or go for a walk around the neighborhood.

● Breakfasts generally consist of Chai (tea), toast, cereal, fruit and mandazi (deep fried dough). A typical lunch can include meat and vegetables with rice, sandwiches and fruit while dinner usually sees traditional food such as posho, chapatti, potatoes, matooke accompany the meat and vegetables.

● For volunteers, the home only provides breakfast and dinner. Lunch is only arranged on request. For other travelers or visitors, the home only makes arrangements for bed and breakfast.

● fees cover real costs + sustain community programs — not “pay to volunteer”

– 2 weeks — USD 700
– 4 weeks — USD 950
– 8 weeks — USD 1,650

● Optional Add-Ons
– Safari / nature weekend — USD 650
– Language & culture classes — USD 200
– Academic credit documentation — USD 150

● Must be atleast 18, speak some English.
