About Us

Akwaaba Humanitarian Foundation is a community-based, non-profit organization in Ghana working to improve access to health, education, and social development opportunities for underserved and vulnerable communities. Our core activities include community health promotion, child welfare and education support, humanitarian outreach, and volunteer-supported development initiatives.

The foundation implements grassroots, community-led programs such as educational material and school uniform support for children, health education and outreach activities, and participation in public health efforts like immunization campaigns. Our work is guided by equity, compassion, community participation, and sustainability, and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The organization is coordinated by a Founder and Project Lead who oversees program implementation, partnerships, and volunteer engagement.

Yes

Your volunteer days don’t end after school. In the evenings, Ghana offers plenty to explore and enjoy.

You can hike scenic trails, swim in rivers, visit waterfalls, join sports activities, or take part in local clubs. Evenings may include live music, cultural experiences, and trying both local and international food.

Weekends are free for travel and adventure. Popular options include safaris, museums, historic castles and forts, rainforest canopy walks, beaches, waterfalls, and visits to local markets or cinemas.

We can also help recommend places and arrange trusted guides so you can safely explore and make the most of your free time.
