About Us
Adjah Cancer Support Ghana (ACSG) is a volunteer-driven organization in Ghana committed to supporting communities through health education, community service, and volunteer engagement. We welcome local and international volunteers who want to make a positive difference while experiencing Ghanaian culture and community life.
Our School Volunteer Placement connects volunteers with local schools to support teachers and contribute to children's learning and development. Through classroom assistance, reading activities, basic mathematics, educational games, creative learning, and extracurricular activities, volunteers help create an engaging and supportive learning environment for students.
Volunteers work alongside local teachers and school staff, sharing their skills, ideas, and enthusiasm while learning about Ghana's educational system, traditions, and way of life. Our placement is suitable for individuals who are passionate about education, enjoy working with children, and are willing to learn and adapt to a new cultural environment.
We aim to promote meaningful cultural exchange, responsible volunteering, and community participation. Volunteers receive orientation and local support throughout their placement, with accommodation and three meals per day included in the program.
Child safeguarding is an important part of our approach. Volunteers are expected to respect school rules, follow safeguarding policies, and work under the guidance of authorized school staff.
By joining our School Volunteer Placement, you can contribute to children's educational experiences, build cross-cultural friendships, develop new perspectives, and enjoy a rewarding volunteer experience in Ghana.

Volunteer experience
A typical day begins with breakfast and travel to the partner school. Volunteers meet teachers and receive guidance on the day's classroom activities. They assist with lessons, reading, writing, basic mathematics, educational games, and individual student support under teacher supervision. During breaks, volunteers may interact with students and participate in supervised recreational activities. After lunch, they may help prepare learning materials, support group exercises, or take part in creative and extracurricular activities. At the end of the school day, volunteers return to their accommodation, enjoy free time, and reflect on their experiences. Schedules vary depending on the school's timetable, students' needs, and planned activities.
€350 per week
Volunteers are provided with safe and comfortable accommodation in Ghana during their placement. Depending on availability, accommodation may be in a shared or private room with access to basic facilities, including a bed, bathroom, electricity, and water. Volunteers may share common areas with other volunteers or members of the host household. The accommodation offers an opportunity to experience Ghanaian culture and everyday local life. Three meals per day are included in the stay. Volunteers are expected to keep their rooms and shared spaces clean, respect house rules, and be considerate of other residents. Accommodation arrangements and facilities will be communicated before arrival.

They may also visit beaches, experience traditional festivals when available, and learn about Ghanaian customs and everyday life. Volunteers can use weekends to explore nearby attractions and enjoy optional excursions. All activities are subject to availability, personal preferences, and local arrangements. Participation in free-time activities is optional, and volunteers are responsible for any associated transportation, entrance fees, tours, and personal expenses.
