About Us
Adjah Cancer Support Ghana (ACSG) offers a Nursing & Patient Care Observation Program for students and individuals interested in nursing, patient support, and healthcare delivery. Participants gain exposure to nursing routines, patient communication, infection prevention, and the daily responsibilities of healthcare teams in Ghana. Through approved observation activities and guidance from qualified nursing professionals, volunteers learn about patient dignity, compassionate care, and the challenges and practices of hospital nursing. Activities depend on hospital approval, departmental availability, and professional supervision.

Volunteers may observe approved activities but must not independently provide nursing care, administer medication, or perform clinical procedures.
Volunteer experience
A typical day begins with reporting to the designated nursing supervisor and reviewing the day's schedule. Depending on hospital approval, participants may observe nursing handovers, ward routines, patient communication, infection prevention practices, and coordination between nurses and other healthcare professionals. Volunteers learn about patient dignity, comfort, and the organization of nursing services while respecting confidentiality and patient consent.
Activities vary by department and supervisor availability. The day may conclude with a discussion of learning experiences and questions with the designated supervisor. Hands-on patient care is not guaranteed and is permitted only where specifically authorized.
