About Us

Shepherd's House Childcare Ministries is a child-focused organization dedicated to giving hope to children from underprivileged families through education. Since 2014, we have operated Shepherd's House Junior School and Shepherd's House High School, providing quality education and support to children who might otherwise be unable to attend school. Our mission is to restore hope by ensuring every child has access to the education they deserve.

Volunteers spend their days teaching in the classroom, assisting with educational activities, and playing with the children, with breaks throughout the day. Breakfast and lunch are provided.

There is no program fee to volunteer with us. However, we encourage volunteers to support our work through fundraising, as Shepherd's House Childcare Ministries relies on donations to provide education and care for the children.

We provide volunteer accommodation in a shared house that can accommodate up to six volunteers at a time. The house features clean, comfortable rooms equipped with beds and mattresses.

Volunteers are provided with three meals a day at the school. Meals are locally prepared and typically include dishes such as beans, rice, and posho, a traditional maize-based staple.
