About Us
Tumaini Hands Mission (THM) is a community-based nonprofit founded in Eldoret, Kenya, with a simple belief: hope can transform communities when put into action.
Founded in 2017 by local leaders and health workers, THM supports vulnerable children and families affected by poverty, school dropout, and limited access to healthcare. Today, we work across schools, health centres, and villages in Eldoret, Bungoma, and Trans Nzoia.
Our programmes focus on education, healthcare, and community service, including early childhood learning, school mentorship, tutoring, health awareness, hygiene and nutrition outreach, and women and youth empowerment.
As a grassroots, volunteer-led organization, we believe in living with the community, learning from the community, and serving where help is needed most. This is not just a visit—it is an opportunity to contribute to real community impact.

Why choose us?
Choose Tumaini Hands Mission (THM) for a personal, hands-on volunteering experience with a small local team. Instead of being one of many volunteers, you will work directly with our team, build meaningful relationships with the community, and see your impact every day. You’ll also experience authentic Kenyan culture by staying with a host family, enjoying local food, learning Swahili, and becoming part of the community.
We provide personalized orientation, 24/7 local support, flexible roles based on your skills, and a certificate of service. Your contribution directly supports the local community, making THM a place for real connection, meaningful learning, and positive impact.
