About Us
Ssamba Foundation is a Ugandan community-based development organization located in Mukono District, Uganda. Founded in April 2006 by Rotarian Isaac Ssamba, the Foundation works alongside vulnerable children, young people, women and families to improve lives and build stronger, more self-reliant communities.
For 20 years, we have been committed to addressing practical community challenges and creating opportunities for people to shape their own futures. Our work focuses on education, women's empowerment, agriculture, public health, water and sanitation, and sustainable community development.
We welcome local and international volunteers who want to contribute their time, knowledge, skills and enthusiasm to community initiatives in Uganda. Through our integrated Community Volunteer Program, participants engage in ongoing projects and activities according to community needs, current priorities, their interests, skills and suitability.
Opportunities may include supporting children's learning activities, agriculture and gardening, women's skills development, public health awareness, environmental activities, construction support and other community initiatives.
Volunteering with Ssamba Foundation is also an opportunity to experience everyday Ugandan life. Participants interact with local people, discover Ugandan traditions, enjoy local food, learn about community life and build friendships through meaningful cultural exchange.
Our approach is based on community participation, mutual learning, partnership and sustainability. We do not offer a fixed job role; instead, we encourage volunteers to contribute where their support is most useful while learning from the communities they join.
Join us in Uganda. Share your skills, experience a new culture and become part of a community working towards a better future.
