Aparis Community Development Program (Aparis CDP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable children in rural Uganda. Established in 2024, we work within local communities to provide care, education support, and long-term opportunities for children who are orphaned, neglected, or living in extremely difficult conditions.
Our mission is simple but urgent: to protect children, restore dignity, and create pathways toward a safer and more hopeful future.
In many parts of rural Uganda, children face serious challenges including poverty, lack of access to education, malnutrition, and unsafe living conditions. Some children grow up without proper care, shelter, or medical attention, and many are exposed to exploitation and long-term hardship.
Through Aparis CDP, we work directly with these children and their communities to provide:
Our approach is rooted in long-term care rather than short-term aid.
One of our first beneficiaries is Irene, a 12-year-old girl living with cerebral palsy. Much of her early life was spent in and out of hospital care, and she struggled with basic mobility and communication.
Through consistent care, support, and a nurturing environment, Irene has shown remarkable progress. Her development continues every day, and her journey represents the potential impact of compassionate, long-term support.
Her story reflects what we believe at Aparis CDP: every child has potential when given care, stability, and opportunity.
To address the challenges faced by street-connected and highly vulnerable children, we have developed a community-based initiative called the Children in Families Program.
This program focuses on:
We believe children thrive best in loving, stable environments where they can grow with dignity, education, and care.
Volunteers play an important role in our work. Through teaching, creative storytelling, cultural exchange, and educational support, volunteers help children improve literacy, communication skills, and confidence.
Many children in our communities speak local languages and face challenges in learning English in school environments. Volunteer involvement helps bridge this gap while also promoting cultural understanding and inclusion.
We welcome flexible volunteer participation, whether for a few hours or longer-term engagement, depending on individual skills and availability.
Aparis CDP also works to raise awareness about the challenges faced by vulnerable children in Eastern Uganda. We advocate for child protection, education access, and community-based care systems that prioritize the well-being and future of every child.
We believe that no child should be forced into survival on the streets, and every child deserves safety, education, and love.
There are several ways to support our work:
Donate:
Even small contributions help provide food, education, and care for children in need.
Donate Goods:
In-kind support such as toys, learning materials, or essential supplies makes a meaningful difference.
Volunteer Your Time:
Support teaching, storytelling, mentoring, or creative educational activities.
Aparis CDP is a growing community effort supported by local staff, volunteers, and partners who share a common goal: to improve the lives of vulnerable children and build a stronger future.
