We are a not-for-profit non-governmental grassroots organisation registered as a not-for-profit company and based in Greece, composed of a dedicated group of people driven by our desire to protect the environment through specific courses of action such as environmental conservation projects and scientific research targeted towards sustainable development. Key to this object is the achievement of environmental justice in a given area and the conservation of biological diversity. Our organisation is governed by a board of directors. A voluntary international advisory board provides advice on various issues. Our organisation is operated primarily by volunteers and a smaller number of members of the organisation. We achieve our goals by providing solutions to local environmental problems through targeted conservation actions, empowerment and education of local communities to protect their environment, relevant legal actions and the provision of viable sustainable economic alternatives to human practices that are environmentally destructive. The logo of our organisation is a symbolic representation of the focus of the organisation in conserving and restoring organisms and ecosystems that support them that are either relatively large in size, great in age for their species or both and specifically large sized individuals particularly within each of three ecological groups highly threatened by human interference: Cetaceans, terrestrial herbivores and large sized and/or aged floral organisms.

We are located in the heart of nature, offering plenty of opportunities to explore the surrounding area together with our guests and visitors. Discover the real Thailand!

Imara Community Growth Network (ICGN) is a community-based organization located in rural Kenya, dedicated to improving the lives of children, youth, and vulnerable families through education, empowerment, and sustainable community development. Our vision is to build thriving, self-reliant communities where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. Our mission is to promote education, child welfare, environmental conservation, and community empowerment through locally driven initiatives that create lasting positive change. The story of ICGN began with a simple desire to respond to the challenges facing children and families in our community. Many children were growing up in poverty, facing barriers to education, inadequate learning resources, food insecurity, and limited opportunities to reach their full potential. Seeing these struggles firsthand, local community members came together with a shared commitment to support vulnerable children and create pathways for a better future. What started as a small grassroots effort gradually grew into a trusted community network working closely with schools, families, and local leaders. Through dedication, volunteer support, and community partnerships, ICGN has expanded its activities to include educational support programs, mentorship, sports and recreation initiatives, environmental conservation projects, community outreach, and family empowerment activities. Today, ICGN works with children from diverse backgrounds, helping them access learning opportunities, develop confidence, and build essential life skills. We believe that sustainable development begins at the community level and that local people are best placed to identify and address their own challenges. For this reason, all our programs are designed and implemented in partnership with the communities we serve. Volunteers are an important part of our journey, as they share their skills, knowledge, and time to support our mission.

LDC is registered with the Social Development and Human Security Ministry as a public interest organization. Currently, we are focusing on establishing a community service and sustainable development study center in Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai Province. LDC has been hosting international volunteers from around the world since 2000, and most of the projects are completed with the help of volunteers. Volunteers have been LDC's main support since 2000. Open Arms Community Project, trading as Open Arms Foundation, is a registered nonprofit based in Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. We support young people, women and girls, children, and persons with disabilities through education, health awareness, practical skills, and community programmes. Our Farm the Future 2030 programme operates with GEDA Gardens near Empangeni. It introduces young people to agriculture through learning and practical activities involving crops, livestock, and related livelihood skills. Volunteers may help with supervised farm activities, learning sessions, community outreach, and programme support, according to their skills and the opportunities available during their stay. We aim to give young people useful experience and a clearer path towards work or self-employment while building a welcoming, inclusive community.
I welcome volunteers to my home, where I live with two cows, two calves, and ten rabbits. My goal is to create a welcoming environment where volunteers can experience sustainable living, learn practical farming skills, and participate in meaningful activities. During their stay, volunteers will have the opportunity to learn about animal care, including feeding and looking after cows, calves, and rabbits. They will also gain practical knowledge of sustainable agriculture, responsible use of natural resources, and environmentally friendly ways of living. Another important part of the project is construction. Volunteers will help with small construction and improvement projects around the home and farm. Through teamwork and the exchange of skills, we aim to improve our living environment while sharing knowledge and experiences. I believe that hosting volunteers is a valuable opportunity for cultural exchange, learning, and personal growth. Volunteers will not only contribute their time and skills but also learn about local life, farming practices, and sustainable living. My vision is to build a sustainable home and farm where people from different backgrounds can work together, share ideas, develop practical skills, and make a positive contribution to the community.

Partners For Conservation is a Rwanda-based non-profit organization working to promote biodiversity conservation while improving the well-being and resilience of communities living around important ecosystems and protected areas. The Education Supporter program provides volunteers with an opportunity to share knowledge, skills, and practical experience with local communities, children, students, and other learners. PFC believes that education and skills development can strengthen people's ability to participate in conservation, improve livelihoods, and contribute to healthier and more sustainable communities. The program is based on the principle that effective conservation benefits from combining local knowledge and experience with appropriate scientific and practical knowledge. Volunteers therefore support learning and awareness activities that respond to locally identified needs. Depending on their interests, skills, and experience, volunteers may support adult literacy, financial literacy, language learning, communication and information technology, gender equality and human rights awareness, water, sanitation and hygiene, public health, sexual and reproductive health education, tourism and hospitality, tour guiding, vocational skills, sewing and fashion design, music, or environmental and conservation education. Volunteers may also assist in kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, vocational institutions, universities, and community learning settings. Activities are agreed with PFC and the host community to ensure that they are relevant, appropriate, and beneficial to participants. The program offers volunteers a meaningful opportunity to exchange knowledge, learn from local communities, and contribute to education, conservation, and community development in Rwanda.

Kindred Spirit Elephant Sanctuary (KSES) is a non-profit foundation working alongside Karen communities in Northern Thailand to support elephant welfare, sustainable livelihoods and the protection of the forests they depend on. Our elephants live in the forest, where they are able to move, forage, socialise and rest according to their own rhythms. Our approach prioritises autonomy, space and natural behaviour. Visitors do not touch, feed, bathe or ride the elephants. Instead, they hike through the forest and observe them from a respectful distance, learning to appreciate elephants as individuals with their own needs, relationships and behaviours. Alongside our elephant welfare work, we contribute to behavioural research, community initiatives, environmental projects and education. We work closely with the local Karen community, recognising and valuing the knowledge, experience and long-standing relationships that exist within the community. Our work is based on collaboration, with initiatives developed alongside the people who live and work here. KSES is a small organisation, and collaboration is at the heart of what we do. Our visitors, interns, mahouts, community members, researchers and partner organisations all contribute to the work we share: supporting elephant welfare, community life and the forest environment in ways that are respectful of the people and place at the heart of KSES.
